JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As an Investment Intern with Greystar, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's investment platform. This involves helping conduct thorough financial analysis of potential investment opportunities, contributing to essential documents for real estate transactions, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and monitoring transaction statuses within assigned markets.

Greystar's investment team is dedicated to generating attractive risk-adjusted returns for institutional partners through the acquisition and development of rental properties. Leveraging a combination of global insight and local expertise, Greystar maximises economies of scale and adopts best practices. Our investment team members actively source, analyse, and execute unique investment opportunities across various strategies.

Key Internship Responsibilities and Learning Objectives

• Real Estate Valuation Analysis: learning to conduct comprehensive real estate valuation analysis, developing a deep understanding of the factors influencing property values and investment decisions.

• Excel Modelling: exposure to building and refining Excel models, enhancing proficiency in financial modelling for investment scenarios and decision-making processes.

• Market Research: being taught to conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, contributing valuable insights to investment strategies.

• Data Mining: developing skills in data mining, extracting meaningful information from various sources to inform investment analyses and support decision-making.

• Investment Decision Analysis: contributing to various analysis that are critical to making sound investment decisions, including risk assessments, financial evaluations, and scenario analyses.

• Presentation Development: contributing to the development of presentations, refining your ability to communicate complex investment concepts and recommendations effectively.

• Throughout the internship, you will actively engage with the Investments team, contributing to the team's goals and acquiring practical experience in various facets of real estate investment analysis and decision-making.

Knowledge & Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program in real estate, economics, finance, maths, statistics, data science, business, or a related course.

• Strong desire to learn more about the real estate industry and investment management.

• Quantitative background and analytical problem-solving ability.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Strong, precise written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate complex topics.

• High standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and speed under time-sensitive deadlines.
